Additional Information

What is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion is a type of heat therapy used to stimulate the acupuncture points.  It is considered to be very tonifying treatment and in some cases can be used as an alternative to needles for treatment.

How does it work?

Moxa can be administered by use of stick or cones that are placed over the acupuncture point in order for heat to penatrate into the tissue and stimulate the point.

Moxa can also be used as a cream that put on the affected area of the body and used in conjunction with a special heat lamp called a TDP Lamp.

Moxibustion therapy helps in cases of

  • Pain in the joints or muscles
  • Arthritis
  • Menstrual Pain
  • Back Pain
  • Coughs
  • Asthma
  • Intestinal Problems
  • Breech presentation for babies
  • Aching due to cold damp conditions
